Speed Up Your PC

Hey Guys.

Here I am providing you with few tips to make your pc working faster, even processor speed is low and RAM is limited.

First of all, your computer must not be infected with Viruses, Spywares or Trojans. Any one of them can affect performance of computer significantly. You can remove them using any nice Anti Virus software or by formating your computer.

Now, Here I am giving you few tips to configure your system which will make your pc run faster.

Please go through step by step as I directed...

Tip 1

  1. Right click on my computer.
  2. Select Properties
  3. Go to advanced tab.
  4. Select Settings of Performance.
  5. In Visual Effects, if you select Adjust for best performance, it will increase speed of system to high extent. But it will change the look of appearance completely.
  6. If you can work with this look, please keep it selected. But if you don’t like this weird look, select last three properties of Visual Effects.
  7. Select these 3 Properties 1. Use common tasks in folder 2. Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop 3. Use visual styles on windows and buttons. Enabling these 3 properties will not affect appearance much but still your computer speed will be increased.
  8. Now in the same window. Go to advanced tab.
  9. Click on Change button of Virtual Memory.
  10. In custom size, select virtual memory as much as possible. (That much space of HD will be taken as RAM, so it can help making pc perform better.) Keep it as 1000MB to 1500MB. And better if you select that space from any other drive than C(in which drive OS is installed).

Tip 2

  1. Right click on Desktop.
  2. Select Properties.
  3. Chose Appearance tab.
  4. In Appearance tab click on effects.
  5. Deselect all the options of Effects.

Tip 3 (Speed up menu items)

  1. Open Run window (Start à Run)
  2. Type regedit in the run window and press enter.
  3. Now Registry Editor window will open.
  4. In Registry Editor select HKEY_CURRENT_USER à Control Panel à Desktop.
  5. In Desktop, find MenuShowDelay in right side bar. Double Click on it.
  6. The default value in Value Data is 400. Change it to 20 or 40. Click Ok.
  7. Now the value is changed. Close Registry editor. Restart/ Logoff the pc for changes to take place
